Datuk Seri Haji Ahmad Ismail, SMW, DMPN, DSPN, KMN, PKT, is a highly respected corporate and community leader with over five decades of distinguished experience in construction, development, and industrial management. Since 1974, he has been at the forefront of Malaysia’s infrastructure growth, successfully overseeing numerous high-value projects exceeding RM2.5 billion, including the North–South Expressway, the Penang Bridge Project, and several landmark residential and commercial developments across the nation.
Beyond his engineering and construction achievements, Datuk Seri Ahmad Ismail has also made a strong mark in manufacturing, serving as the Managing Director of Popular Profile Sdn Bhd (PPSB), where he introduced transformative initiatives in quality management and achieved ISO 9002 international standards. His visionary leadership and global networking with CEOs of major multinational corporations have positioned PPSB as a competitive force in the electronics and precision components industry.
A man of integrity and commitment, Datuk Seri Ahmad Ismail has also been deeply involved in public service and leadership, including his tenure as a Member of Parliament (Senate), Penang City Council Member, and Chairman of the Bumiputera Entrepreneurial Development Board of Penang. His dedication to national development has earned him multiple state and federal honors, including the Darjah Setia Mahkota Wilayah (SMW), which carries the title Datuk Seri.
In addition to his corporate and civic achievements, Datuk Seri Ahmad Ismail is a passionate sports leader, having served as President of the Malaysian Sepaktakraw Association (PSM) and Deputy President of the Asian and International Sepaktakraw Federations (ASTAF & ISTAF). His innovative leadership in introducing new sepak takraw formats such as the Double, Quadrant, and Beach Sepak Takraw events has earned Malaysia international recognition and success, including a historic gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games.
